Road Department
The Town of Washington Road Department maintains 200 lane miles of local roads and right-of-way, the third highest in Eau Claire County behind the City of Eau Claire and Eau Claire County. Road Department employees make every effort to maintain the proper conditions, safety and appearance of local roads and rights-of-way for the benefit of the residents, property owners and the traveling public.
The Road Department works under the direction of the Administrator and consists of a full-time working Foreman, two full-time employees, and two seasonal plow operators. Marc Thompson is the Foreman overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Road Department. The department is responsible for road, roadside, bridge, culvert maintenance and repair, ditch mowing and tree removal, traffic signs, snow removal, sweeping, storm damage cleanup, and regular and preventative maintenance of all Town vehicles. They also work in conjunction with contractors on all Town road construction projects.
